Hi Everyone.
I was born and raised in California, enjoying hiking and boating, and playing in the waves. I have a bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University in Public Relations. But I don't like PR so I got a master's in Psychology and became a marriage and family therapist. I am a psychotherapist by profession and a compassionate, intuitive healer by gifting.
My personal work in overcoming substantial family dysfunction, trauma, mood challenges and an eating disorder is what prepared me to guide others on their healing journey. It is why I know emotional health is possible even in the face of grave challenges. So I bring hope as well as professional expertise and experience. My history and family of origin were mostly not chosen by me. However, my ability to achieve emotional and relational health through commitment and practice are core to who I am. My heart is to share this overcoming gift with my clients.
Outside of my practice, I’m a wife of 35 years, a mother of three grown children, and a grandmother of two. A decade ago, I went through a profound personal crisis that led me on a deep spiritual path and inspired me to write my first book, Long Live Love: Breaking Free from Generational Pain. In it, I weave together my clinical experience, personal journey, and faith to explore healing through love, truth, and connection. I’m currently working on two more books—one on listening, and one on Christian meditation.

I am a Christian and you don’t need to be in order for us to work together.
Spiritually speaking, my goal is to help my clients utilize personal spiritual resources that support their mental health and relational healing. I don’t push faith or spiritual beliefs on any client. And I am comfortable utilizing spiritual resources in the therapeutic process specifically tailored to each client’s individual needs.
As a Christian, I incorporate principles of forgiveness, unconditional love, faith, trust, and joy amidst suffering into my therapeutic work. However, I want to clarify that I do not practice Biblical counseling or attribute mental health struggles to sin. While I believe in personal responsibility and recognize the importance of understanding one's role in their challenges, I do not endorse shame or guilt as tools for behavior change.
I view emotional responses as a God-given part of being human, neither right nor wrong, but essential to our experience. My calling is to use love, compassion, wisdom, and psychological knowledge to guide clients in healing their soul wounds. Together, we can navigate the complexities of life, helping you to live fully and authentically in alignment with your purpose.
I believe we are more than matter and that the spirit transcends this life on earth. I therefore see my clients as more than mere matter. In fact, I view them as profoundly valuable beings that are here for a purpose. I work to help my clients find meaning and purpose while understanding and breaking through the obstacles to the aforementioned.
I am happy to answer any questions and discuss this issue prior to beginning a therapeutic relationship.
Please feel free to reach out to me.
